NOTES SEPTEMBER 2005
Back to the archives.
9-27-05 We've brought almost 2 cords of split wood into the barn this weekend and stacked them in a nice neat pile in our newly leveled barn. Feeling so much more organinzed this year! Still have more wood to get, but it looks like Mom & Dad are all set with their wood, which is a relief. No more signs of the moose, but the wild turkeys are still everywhere. Don & I had a nice gig over in Harrison with Steve last Saturday night..we took those songs in every which way. Don is going to have to gig Nat a rental-fee on the drums. Nat, if you're reading this, we need new bamboo sticks up here! The other set are down to toothpicks! Hope everyone is doing well..haven't heard from much of you lately..

9-18-05 This evening, Don & I were standing around in the driveway, discussing re-planting some things, when all of a sudden I saw something out of the corner of my eye and I pointed and I said, "HOLY SHIT!" We ran into the house and I grabbed the camera.

Then I got the nerve up to run over through the barn and take this photo from the doorway.

Amazing. My heart is in my mouth and I am speechless. And here I was thinking that this...

...was the coolest photo I took all day!
9-17-05 I'm beginning to get antsy to give this site a "face lift" again.. But, time is short, and there is only one computer to work on. Check out this site I found... Livingston Taylor. What a nice web site. Did you know that one time, I was booked with Shirley Lewis to play a folk festival in New Jersey (the Apple Fest), and Livingston was headlining (along with that wacko Randy Newman), and backstage, in the green room (which was really just a nice cabin in the woods), I got to "hang" out with Liv? What I remember most was that he was very relaxed and spent a lot of time stretching himself on the door frame. He is a very tall and lanky man. It was more like he was "hanging" with me, come to think of it.
 Roosting wild turkeys
 Eeek!

9-15-05 Wow, it's already the middle of the month. We've had a couple of "gaggles" of wild turkeys hanging out in our yard the last few weeks. This morning I caught them enjoying my garden bench.
We had a groovy time with Brendan over the past few days..lot's of playing and recording and laughing.. Here we are on Monday evening sitting on that same bench (and looking oh so cool).
9-12-05 Arg! Sorry for the delay in an update here... As some of you know, I got knocked out with a head cold, and it's still lingering a week later! Annoying little things, and I haven't been sick in a while, so it threw me off. I even had to take off a day of work AND skip a gig with the band! However, today is going to be a hot day (70 degrees as of 9:30 am!), so I'll be outside soaking up that vitamin D!
I've been bad about sending out birthday gifts and cards to my Leo & Virgo friends and family! Please forgive me, I hate missing your birthdays... It doesn't mean I'm not thinking of you my little chick-a-dees! (Which is, by the by, the state bird of Maine). I promise you will receive some celebration trinkets before the Holiday Season..
9-04-05 Happy Labor Day. The gig up at "The Forks" was a blast, and Don & I got to sleep in our first ever "cabin tent".

It's clearly September, and so the race to finish the wood pile has begun. It seems all we think about is winter. Even Bonezee.
