NOTES NOVEMBER 2005

11-27-05 It's been cold, it's been snowing, but we've still managed to have lots of fun up here on the hill. Tuesday night, I came home through the pounding rains to a warm house, and soon afterwards, our first visitor arrived. D.D. showed up in fine form with half of his apartment. An hour and a half later, we saw Nash & E, who came down and listened to the KrushTruck's latest live version of "Whiskey." Late into the night we recorded and laughed. Wednesday morning, we woke to a steady supply of snow. We had to shovel the driveway! ARG. By evening, it had stopped, and after a great supper over at M&D's, Krush Truck took a stab at some more playing, but ended mostly sitting around ("Lost" was on anyway.)

The snow stopped over night, but came back Thanksgiving morning. We were amazed at how quickly it was swirling around. We hiked back over to M&D's in the early afternoon, and ate quite a lot of food. It was yummy.

After dinner, the sky had cleared, and I took this photo with the camera from Mom's view window.

Nash & E had left by this time, but for the next few days, D.D., Don and I had more great meals, worked on recordings, and lots of laughs. Hope everybody else's holiday was as sweet as mine.

11-21-05 Once again, we managed to squeeze in one last outdoor house project before the deep snow and chill sets in. One long gutter on the front roof line. Tomorrow it rains and we look forward to seeing how it works.

We had sun yesterday and there is sun today. Though it's gone by 3:30, sometimes by 2:00 pm. Forty degrees isn't too bad, but they say it's going to drop this week. It's time to face the inevitable. Cold, cold, cold. Snow, snow, snow. And their good friend, ice.

11-18-05 Jeez, this month is flying by. We are keeping busy with house projects, while we wait for our music co-horts to get back up here. Don stripped the Aunt Nancy table..looks so good.

We took an old sleeper-sofa off of Mom's hands and plopped it down in our kitchen. Looks like the house I used to share with a bunch of other kooks in my 20's now (sigh..Northampton days), but I like it. So do the kitties, of course.

I'm so syked to go see the new Harry Potter movie..this weekend, I hope. Me and 200 billion other people. Well, off to work for me.

11-16-05 Yesterday, we thought it was going to snow. It rained like crazy instead, and this morning we have fog and drizzle. This does not seem to bother the 12 giant wild turkeys roosting in our back field.

I just heard the other day that Maine has two seasons; Wintah and July (thanks G.R.) So, I guess it's winta no matta what you think, cause it sure en hell ain't JULY!

11-10-05 Let it be know now that as I drove home from work last night, November 9th, it was SNOWING! I did not even have my ice scraper in the car yet. Little Scratch (that's the cars name) had to ski-daddle getting up the hill. It was not pretty. This morning, it has warmed up, but I had to take a couple of pics for proof.

11-05-05 Slowly getting all these sub-pages changed over to the new menu/header. Please excuse any broken links or messed up images. I know you all understand. Great day today, went to North Conway. Sunny and warm over there today. Last night playing with Steve Bailey Band Extravaganza *however you spell that* was a freakin' blast. Wish you could have seen it. Well, maybe one or two of you did. But, I know for a fact, that MOST of you, did NOT. :)

11-04-05 Pretty yellow leaves.

11-03-05 Hello old November. Here's my "ToDo" list for this month.

1. Play Brays Brew Pub with Steve Bailey and his band tomorrow night. Proceed to rock the house.
2. Send Disc Doherty a Birthday Present..it's Nov. 13th.
3. Suffer through another round of eating on Thanksgiving. Don't tell anybody, but I loath this holiday.
4. Visit Boston. I miss the Toy Girls somethin' fierce.
5. Plan another Krush Truck session. Been too long. Must jam.
6. Uh, that's all I can think of right now.
