NOTES MARCH 2007
Back to the archives.

3-31-07 I don't know why I'm bothering to update on the last day of the month, but I did have a few photos from last night and today that I wanted to post. Last night, Don played on a local radio show with the band, and I entertained guests (well, they entertained me!) We wanted to prove we had been listening (even through the nasty static), so all we could come up with was these photos:

Today, the sun is out and it's creeping up past 40 degrees, so of course, this means Disc Golf!

Well, for two of us anyway.

3-29-07 The wind has been howling all day yesterday and all last night. Giant blasts and gusts. Look what I found when I looked out the window this morning.

It's been on the back roof of the house since the end of December 2006.

3-24-07 Just checking out a new color scheme.. It's kind of cool, for today. Got the amp down to the shop in Cornish, so hopefully, within a couple of weeks, Vibro will be back in action. Though the temps are coming up, and their has been lot's of meltage, it is, at 7 pm on Saturday night, snowing right now. Yep.

3-22-07 Well, Happy Spring everybody! It is a welcome relief up here, I'll tell you.. Even though we still have a foot of snow on the ground, we can literally feel the warm air creeping in, minute by minute. Today is the beginning.. from here on in, the temps are going to keep rising. Yeah!

Our bunny is back. In the summer months, he is brown, but now I've caught a photo of him with his white fur. He's been sitting in the same spot for a long time this morning!

3-19-07 We rearranged our living room again yesterday.. we're very excited about the new open look! What do you think?

3-18-07 Added another video to my YouTube page the other night. WATCH IT.

3-17-07 Another holiday snowstorm today. The Saint Pat's Day snowstorm began as a light but steady snow last night, around 5 pm, and overnight, turned into a light, but steady freezing rain.. Today, we managed to shovel a path just wide enough for the car to slide up and down. They say the temps will warm up during the week, so we're not going too crazy with the shovelling. Here's a few pics I snapped this morning before we hit the shovels.

Happy Birthday to sis-in-law Eryn! Woohoo!!

3-13-07 A somewhat productive weekend. The weather is gradually getting better, that's a super big deal for me! The mini-pond in the driveway is coming back.. we've already had to drag out the old pallettes (sp?) and plopped them down in front of the porch steps, so it's kind of like a dock. We are in the Lake Region, after all.

Don sang me Happy Birthday on Sunday night. I realized nobody had sung me Happy Birthday on my birthday.. Oh wait, I take that back.. I did receive the cutest message in the world from Jill & her son Lyle.. they sang a version of Happy Birthday to me that was one of a kind fantastic.

In music news, Don started recording a full-length record with the blues band this weekend. I finished some mixing and sent out a cd to Mr. D. on Monday. And my guitar amp needs to go to the amp guy and have it's tubes replaced (hopefully that's all it is). Now, if only I could find the time to bring the amp to the amp guy. SIGH. Off to my dumb job I go now. Poopers.

3-5-07 We got an unexpected overnight visit from Nash & Dwight on Saturday. Though Don had to go play up in Bath that night, "Krush Trike" managed to go down into the basement and run over a few songs.. Sunday morning, Nat left early for 8 runs up at the mountain, and when he got back at noon, Don, Dwight & I were just starting to get rolling. Nat immediatly went outside and began his ritual of shovelling the back yard.

Just minutes after Dwight decided to take a run down on the sled, the strangest thing happened. We all heard a sonic boom.. Don felt a blast of air. I saw the earth buckle and roll. We first thought it may have been a jet from up above, but soon we realized that it had been an aftershock from an earthquake! Don & Dwight have both lived in California and had been through them before. I went up to check on the internet and found an earthquake site, and sure enough, the Northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge had had a 5.0 an hour earlier.. checking back later, I discovered that their had been a 4.7 an hour later, and checking back today, I see their was another one later that day, 5.2!

We thought that was pretty wild, and celebrated by spending the next few hours playing a disc golf "challenge" within the boundries shovelled out in the back yard! Just before they left, we squeezed in an hour and a half of jamming, and they were rolling out the driveway by 5 pm!

3-2-07 Yep, it snowed another foot or so today.. still snowing now as I type this at 5:20 pm. I took the day off from work and I'm kind of mad at myself for not taking better advantage of the free time (see my blah blah EBlog for more on that), but I did help with some of the shovelling. Luckily, Don's gig for tonight got cancelled (and reschedualed), so we can relax about that. As you can see, getting out of the driveway and out into the roads would have been quite tricky.

I am so happy it is March, meaning spring is just that much closer! It's been such a cold winter, and these last couple of snowstorms are not making it any easier. I'm hearing now that some more bitter cold air is due to arrive this Tuesday, which sucks. I guess the chains will just have to sit in the barn a little bit longer...

....and the wall of shame will just have to stay at it's current photo count!

3-1-07 Yeah, March!
