NOTES JUNE 2005
Back to the archives.

6-27-05 Wow, what an awesome weekend I've had... the weather was hot, the Red Sox kicked ass, Don & I picked up a cheap bottle of Tequila and indulged in a couple of Margaritas.. as my Mom said to me this afternoon after we took a swim in Aunt Nancy's 85 degree warm pool.."this is living, eh?" Yep, sure is!

Friday night, Don & I went over to Bray's to see Pam Baker & The SG's (featuring our good buddy Steve Bailey on guitar)...

Saturday, it was so hot we spent a lot of time in our cool basement, jamming like the White Stripes and taking many breaks to watch the birds on our bird tree...

After a swim at the pool, we had our frosty Margaritas and corn chips and salsa and grilled up a cheap cut of lamb, which rocked...Sunday morning, we awoke to another hot day and decided it was time for a new living room arrangement. By the end of the day, we had a whole new look, complete with freshly painted bookshelves, and, after another grill by dusk, ate dinner at the newly polished dining room table in front of the fireplace and watched "Into The West" on TNT.

Too much information? Yeah, I know. :) Peace out for now..looking forward to your visits..

6-24-05 It's going to be WICKED HOT tomorrow! We're hoping Nash & Friends (or ANYONE for that matter) will come up for a visit, but WE STILL DON'T KNOW FOR SURE......... I, for one, am antsy as all heck to get in a good jammy jam .......

6-19-05 Went "snap happy" with the camera today... here's a sampling.

6-15-05 Well well well, another stretch of rainy weather has blown in our way up here in the wilds... just after we brought all of the house plants out for their first summer vacation, the weather drops to the 50's and the wind picks up and dumps the rain...

Makes the hair all frizzy and the joints all achey. Sigh.

6-13-05 My very observant friend Nancy has pointed out that it's the story of the TOAD, not the FROG! My BAD! I'm a dopey girl. Hey! We had a super time at a PARTY on Saturday, which we haven't been to in a long time. We got to jam and eat a lot. Here's the scene just around cake time.

Yesterday we skulked around in the 90 degree humidity and tried to get some yard work done. I worked on part of a stone wall and Don weeded the rasperberry patch.

Well, I very frustrated with that Yahoo on-line photo album page. Is anybody able to see it? Or do you have to be a Yahoo member to see it? I guess nearly everyone on the planet is a Yahoo member. I'm going to try and find another on-line photo album (a free one, of course), so I'll let you know.

6-9-05 The story of how Don saved the frog. The night before yesterday, the frog got spooked by me when I moved some plants on the patio, and he crawled backwards down into a little hole in the beam of the patio. He stayed there for awhile, and when we checked later at night we thought he had jumped out. But the next day, while I was at work, Don looked down the hole, and there he still was. So Don went and got some chopsticks from the kitchen, and gently pulled him out. Frog just sat there, dazed. So Don went and got this bowl of water, and placed him in it, and frog stayed there for almost an hour. Then he hopped away.

Freshly mown lawn.

6-8-05 What a perfect summer day we had yesterday! Don got a little putting in late in the day.

6-7-05 Updated the Krush Truck page. (Turn up your volume and hear the Cool).

6-6-05 Posted a few pics from yesterday's Old Port Festival gig on the gigs page. Special thanks to Al the drummer's beautiful daughter Alby for snapping 'em! The day was a blast, too. Steve B. rocks!!!!

6-3-05 Just a quick note to let you know I've fixed the link to my new Yahoo on-line Photo Album. Click on the link below (or go to my contact page), and you will now be able to view more photos, if you wish..... Thanks Terry R. for pointing that out! Carry on..

6-2-05 Ah...sunshine. Finally.

6-1-05 Ok. It's June (well, almost. It's actually 9:51 pm on May 31st, but I'm so over May). Let's start fresh again, shall we? No more rain! At least for a while. So, to celebrate my 2 year anniversary here, I finally saw my first moose! Driving home from work tonight, it was dark, I was on the main road, and I saw a set of eyes reflecting, and I immediatly assumed it was a deer, which we see all the time. But it kept walking out, into the road, and that's when I realized, holy cow! That's a moose! It just ambled out into the road, I slowed down, and then stopped, and it just took it's time walking up the road! I saw headlights coming up behind me, so I finally honked my horn, and the thing decided to cross the road and walk into the woods across the street. My heart was racing a million miles a minute! It must have been a female or a calf, because it didn't have the big ass antlers or anything. So, a milestone has been marked for me and my experience in Maine. I saw my first moose.
