NOTES JANUARY 2006
Back to the archives.

1-29-06 After a long week at work, I've finally got a day off. Last night, while Don was off in South Portland playing a gig, I got inspired and re-arranged the music room. I really like the new set-up, and I hope my assorted bandmates will enjoy playing music with us in the new space as well.

Switched the location of the drums with the controls table.

Don's got more room to boogie, and he's closer to the controls.

Dusty cymbals and a new "Wall Of Shame" locale.

Now, the music room has an "in the round" quality to it!

1-23-06 We've been kind of busy up here lately, or at least it seems that way.. After a week or so of beautiful, mild weather, where almost all of the snow melted, the frigid air has crept back in and today we've even got snow coming down. Luckily for me, I've got the day off, and we don't need to go anywhere, so it's quite nice. Got the woodstove cooking back up by 11 in the morning, and I'm going through a couple of loads of laundry.

Saturday nights gig with Steve, Don and Al turned out to be very fun. The crowd was decent, for a freezing Saturday night in Harrison, Maine, and I even had a couple of my (new) peeps show up! The crowd got on their feet and boogied to our sloppy, free-wheelin' romps, and we even got a few sing-along, call-and-response moments with them. A good time, indeed, was had by all. I've got a long work week ahead of me, and Don's been cranking out the website codes and he's got 2 gigs this weekend with Pam Baker & The SG's!

However, I must admit, the most exciting thing that is happening.. we've ordered the new IMac and it's coming sometime this week! WAHOO! Our computer lives are about to change dramatically.. We'll finally have enough memory and ram and bytes and what-not to make Nat & Eryn's wedding video and burn it right to a DVD..we'll have so much speed.. We will have ITunes and GarageBand..I mean, technologically speaking, it's pitiful how out-dated we've been living the last few years.. We can't wait to get groovin' on the new machine.

Bone-Zee is not impressed.

1-16-06 It's staying fairly quite, weather wise, on the hill. Saturday night, the rain froze up to ice, and on Sunday morning we could not open the car doors, even with the de-icer spray. Luckily, we had no where to be, and by Monday morning, we had ol' Scratch back in action.

Salt Man to the rescue on Monday morning.

My collection of bird nests.

Me and Elvis in the basement bathroom.

The back field a few days ago.

1-08-06 So far, it's been a good year, no complaints. We've been working hard, but over the weekend, we had visitors..Nash & Gary stayed over for skiing, and on Friday night, they went sledding. In the dark. Then they did some disc golf putting in the snow. I was the flashlight holder and photo-taker.

1-01-06 Woo Hoo! It's 2006! Thanks again for visiting my silly web site..I never have much to say, but it's a lot fun for me, and I appreciate y'all visiting.

Well, it's official. Don and I are........yep, you guessed it. IN LOVE.
With this.

And we plan on getting it, soon. See why we pine so much for this amazing computer.

I forgot to mention this last week in my December page, but there is a very exciting addition to our crib. Santa heard my prayers and picked this up for Don and me. How cool is this? It plays vinal records and the speakers make them sound even "older" and "scratchier" than they already are! We've been having fun going back to my old collection that I've been carting around with me for years.

From now on, we've got the music of Small Faces, Spirit, Pink Floyd, Elvis Costello, The Doors, Jimmy Hendrix, Little Walter, Elmore James, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Dionne Warwick, Madonna, Hall & Oats, Charlie Parker, Janis Joplin, The Sex Pistols, Elvis Presley, Yes, Styx, a Blag Flag 45", The Fall 45", and of course, The Beatles, available to listen to at whenever we get the urge. SWEET! (Of course, that's all I can remember off the top of my head..)

In addition, it has a CD player, tape deck and radio. Rock and Roll. That's all I have to say.
